Young Carers

Are you a student who helps look after a family member at home?

Being a Young Carer is an incredible responsibility, and while it's something to be proud of, we know it can sometimes feel like a lot to carry.

It isn’t always easy to ask for what you need. That’s why our School Advocate is here for you.

What is an Advocate for Young Carers?

Think of an advocate as someone who sits on your side of the table. Miss Roberts doesn't judge and won't tell you what to do. Her only job is to make sure your wishes, worries, and opinions are heard clearly by the school and other adults.

Our advocate can help you:

✨ Be Heard: Whether it’s about homework pressure, your timetable, or your future plans—she ensures your voice isn't lost.

✨ Stay Supported: She provides a private, safe space to talk about the juggle between home life and school life.

✨ Get the Balance Right: She helps you communicate what you need so you can succeed in class while still being there for your family.

Information for Parents & Carers

We are fully committed to supporting our Young Carers. Our advocacy service is designed to empower your child, helping them build confidence and ensuring their education and well-being are prioritised alongside their caring role.

How to make contact:

Where: Find Miss Roberts in the House Hub.

How it works:

Students can drop in or be referred if they need help expressing their views on school life and support plans.
