2026/2027 - new uniform
As we look ahead to the 2026-27 academic year, we are pleased to share updates to our school uniform policy. These changes are a direct result of student feedback, focusing on inclusivity, comfort, and practical choice.
Important: Implementation & Suppliers
-
Year 7 (September 2026): These changes are compulsory.
-
Years 8–11: These changes are optional. Students may continue to wear the current uniform.
-
New Supplier: We have moved from Brigade to Price & Buckland (https://price-buckland.co.uk). We chose them for their online efficiency and flexibility. Skoolkit remains an authorised supplier.

|
False nails and eyelashes are a health and safety concern and spread infection, so we do not accept them on-site. If young people cite their mental health as a need for any of these, we would prefer to work with them on resolving the source of their need. |
|
Why are we making these changes?
Our Student Council and student body were instrumental in these updates:
-
Gender-Neutral Options: To ensure all students feel comfortable, we have introduced the kilt as a replacement for the traditional skirt.
-
Increased Choice: In response to student requests, tailored shorts and cardigans are now official uniform items.
-
Durability & Modesty: To address concerns regarding the quality and "ripping" of standalone leggings, any leggings worn as part of the daily uniform must now be worn underneath a kilt.
-
Health & Safety: We prohibit facial piercings, false eyelashes, and false nails to maintain a safe environment and minimise the risk of infection or injury during school activities.
Supporting Our Students
We understand that some students may have specific medical, physical, or Special Educational Needs (SEN) that require further adaptations. If your child has a specific need—including those related to sensory processing or mental health—we want to work with you directly.
Please contact your child’s Head of Year or our SENCO team before purchasing new items so we can ensure the right support and reasonable adjustments are in place.
Thank you for your continued support in maintaining high standards at Bridgemary School.
