FREE Internet Safety talk
Dear Parents and Carers,
Each year, Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world by thousands of schools, charities and other organisations. Internet safety is an important part of education and is something we take very seriously in our curriculum, but we also use Safer Internet Day to take part in themed activities.
The theme for this year is: Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better Internet starts with you
Crofton and Bridgemary schools have come together to organise a series of events during the second week of February to celebrate the many positives of the Internet, and to raise awareness of the issues that children and young people face online today. They will be taking part in a range of activities, workshops and assemblies based around keeping safe online.
The schools have invited a nationally-renowned speaker to take part in a number of these activities including the parent talks. Alan Mackenzie (www.esafety-adviser.com) will raise the awareness of a range of issues that affect children and young people along with clear, practical advice to help parents in this difficult area.
We really hope you’ll be able to come and join us, and play your part for a better Internet.
