Summer School

Bridgemary Summer School 2014

What is the Bridgemary Summer School all about?

The Summer School programme is in to its’ third year at Bridgemary School after two very successful years. Our two week programme offers pupils from our local cluster schools, and from outside the catchment area, the opportunity to experience a ‘day in the life of a Bridgemary student’ prior to starting school in Year 7 in September.

The programme is structured to aid transition from Year 6 into Year 7 with activities focused on key core subjects such as Maths, English & Science in week 1 and Art, Drama, Food Technology and Design Technology in week 2.

New for 2014 we will be offering a breakfast club in the morning for young people to access prior to the summer school activities commencing. Every day there will be an hours’ physical activity/sport session.

As well as meeting teaching staff from Bridgemary and becoming familiar with the school site, the young people attending will have the opportunity to make new friendship groups, especially if they are moving up from a school outside the Bridgemary cohort.
