Transition into Year 7

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

We are delighted to welcome you to the Bridgemary community and our new portal for transition!

As a school, we look forward to working with you to support education, personal development and the well-being of your child as they progress towards young adulthood.

The transition from Primary to Secondary School is an exciting and significant milestone in any child's education and can invoke a mixture of emotions for the student and their families. We understand that this period of transition can feel unsettling and despite the current school closures, we will work alongside you to aid a smooth and positive start to life at
Bridgemary School; enabling our new Year 7 students to make the best progress possible.

Currently, we are in the process of adapting our successful transition programme in response to the current situation. We will be in touch as soon as we have further information about our planned transition events. Our new transition portal provides you with the opportunity to familiarise yourselves with our expectations, procedures and staff and enables us to understand better our new students and support families.

Message to Year 6:

As you enter your final half-term at Primary School, I want to encourage you to keep working hard, whether that is through your home learning or attending your Primary School, when it is safe to do so. As your transition lead, I want to make sure your transition to
Bridgemary School is a smooth process, and while many things will be different for you and you will have many new experiences, please do not worry about these things. You will adjust quickly to your new routines, and remember, we are all here to help you!

We hope that the information provided on the portal will help to support you with this. The Year 6/7 Transition Portal will regularly receive updates, so please keep checking back on this page, as well as our official Facebook page.
